Speculation has grown in recent weeks with regard to the Gulf Oil Spill Disaster and what it may mean for the environment and civilization in general. As the oil continues to spew from deep below the ocean surface, it wreaks havoc on the southern coastline of the United States. Many species of birds and marine wildlife are in jeopardy, and the citizens of the coastal communities in harms way are being affected both financially and emotionally by the devastation wrought upon them by this ongoing calamity.

Is this man-made disaster yet another sign of the times in which we live? Will this bring more hardship and despair upon those who are already suffering from the worst economic collapse since the great depression of 1929?

There are some in the secular community who believe that the Gulf oil spill is a fulfillment of bible prophecy with regard to end times philosophy. Indeed the Hopi Indians have a prophetic tradition dating back thousands of years, in which they have referenced environmental catastrophes,and its affect on human civilization.

The interpretation of the seriousness of the Gulf Oil Spill will be examined if and when the gushing oil is contained, but its impact on life and all living things will be both long term and far reaching.
